Sorry, Hiddlestoners.

A source close to Tom Hiddleston‘s upcoming movie “I Saw The Light” told TheWrap that this film won’t be arriving so soon anymore.

Sony Pictures Classics has apparenty moved its release date to 25th March 2016. Coincidentally, Warner Bros‘ highly anticipated “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will be released on the same day as the movie.

Starring Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen, the movie was previously due to be released on 28th November this year. It premiered at Toronto International Film Festival earlier in September. Though Hiddleston was praised for his performance as Hank Williams, the film received a lukewarm reception.

A number of reasons were taken into account when Sony Pictures Classics made the decision. The studio noted that Hiddleston was unavailable to promote the movie as he will be shooting “Kong: Skull Island“. On top of that, they moved the release date to avoid the competitive Oscar season.

Tom Hiddleston as Hank Williams

Written and directed by Marc Abraham, “I Saw The Light” is based on “Hank Williams: The Biography”, an award-winning biopgraphy written by Colin Escott, George Merritt, and William (Bill) MacEwen. It chronicles American country musician Hank Williams’ meteoric rise to fame and its ultimately tragic effect on his health and personal life.

Best known for his role as Loki in “The Avengers” and “Thor” films, Hiddleston is starring in it as Williams while Olsen plays his wife. The film also boasts an impressive cast which includes Cherry Jones, Bradley Whitford, David Krumholtz, Maddie Hasson, and Wren Schmidt.

It gives me great pleasure to introduce the first clip from I SAW THE LIGHT. @TIFF_NET tomorrow! #MoveItOnOverhttps://t.co/0xC30AghNF

Hiddleston recently starred in Guillermo del Toro‘s gothic romance film “Crimson Peak“. Besides, “Kong: Skull Island”, he will be seen next in “Thor: Ragnarok”.
