Themed “For The Future”, with the brand promise as “Creating Tomorrow’s Positive Influence”, Influence Asia serves as a platform to uphold standards and celebrate individual and group efforts in creating strong and positive content for the future.

The nominees participated in 9 award categories – Food, Fitness, Lifestyle, Beauty, Fashion, Parenting, YouTube Channel, YouTube Personality, and Breakout Influencer. In addition, 7 top influencers (the top from each country) were crowned “Influencer of the Year”. As a special award for the influencers of the host country, Malaysia, the Influencers’ Choice Awards were also given out to 3 winners based on voting done by only Malaysia-based influencers who attended the show.

On top of that, Influence Asia 2017 also featured award presenters who are top influencers in their various fields, namely: Carli Bybel (US) and Shannon Harris (NZ) for the beauty category, Lilymaymac (AUS) for the lifestyle category, Anis Nabilah (MY) for the food category, and Sririta Jensen (TH) for the fashion category.

Our homeboy JinnyboyTV walked away with 4 Influence Asia 2017 in total – YouTube Channel, YouTube Personality, Influencer’s Choice Award, Influencer of the Year – effectively making it a clean sweep for the team 🙂

And of course, what’s an awards show without a song and a dance?

One of the highlights of the awards show were the regional performing acts including Malaysia’s homegrown talent pop trio De Fam; Project E.A.R, a collaborative band of different acts from 5 different countries in Southest Asia; Singaporean rapper, Kevin Lester, dubbed The Lion City Boy;  and top Indonesian singer-songwriter Tulus.

Vietnamese pop singer and a current judge on “The Voice Vietnam”, Noo Phuoc Thinh, truly knocked the socks off everyone’s feet with his high energy performance which was coupled with just the right amount of swag.

Finally, former SNSD Girls’ Generation member Jessica Jung (제시카 정), a K-Pop star in her own right, graced the stage to close the show as the final headline act. The screams from her “Golden Stars” (as Jessica Jung’s fans are lovingly known) were though the roof as Jessica performed her hit songs “Fly” (off her “With Love, J” EP) and “Wonderland” (off her “Wonderland” EP), ending the night on a high note.
