It’s not uncommon to see K-pop idols leaving their group for certain reasons. Some have willingly exited their group due to personal or health issues while others were kicked out by their labels for violating contracts.
Things haven’t been the same since B.I (김한빈) left iKON (아이콘). It was previously reported that the former leader’s contract with his label was terminated following drug abuse allegations. A few years after the scandal, one of the iKON members decided to share his thoughts on the matter.
Yesterday (Monday, 11th September), Bobby (바비) took to his personal Instagram to share his thoughts on former member and leader B.I, who left the group back in 2021. The idol admitted that as frustrated as he was when it happened back then, he still cares for the solo artist. “You know and he knows what he did was wrong but let’s not make this whole game commercial and shit though. I love him as much as you love him,” he captioned.
The singer also admitted that he forgives his former leader for what had happened and urged iKON fans to give the artist a chance to redeem himself saying, “Forgiveness is the most noble thing that human beings can do.” He also added in the comments section to ask everyone to stop arguing with each other on the matter of who was right or wrong.
While his intentions were good, fans were torn about him expressing his opinions on the issue. Many called him out for being a hypocrite saying that what B.I did back then was nothing compared to his sex scandal where he impregnated a woman out of wedlock. Others dismissed his emotions saying that he shouldn’t have felt betrayed since the now-soloist didn’t voluntarily leave the group.
Some also expressed that Bobby and other iKON members had every right to feel hurt by the situation. There were also those who believed that his intentions were good and encouraged everyone to move on and not argue over the issue anymore.
