Despite the hype surrounding their comeback news, BTS (방탄소년단) are facing criticism lately, especially Jungkook (정국). Leader RM also sparked controversy over a comment he has now apologised for.
On 8th December 2025 (Monday), RM took to Weverse to address his now-controversial livestream from last Saturday (6th December 2025). During the livestream, the BTS leader shared his thoughts on recent events, and a comment many felt was an indirect mention of fellow member Jungkook’s recent controversies. Most notably, the idol mentioned that he had considered disbanding the group multiple times amidst the struggles they face.

In his Weverse post, RM, whose real name is Kim Namjoon (김남준), apologised to fans for his on-stream outburst, saying he was frustrated during the livestream. He said, “I think I may have made a lot of ARMYs feel tired with the livestream two days ago. I’m really sorry. I got so many messages about it from people who were worried about me. I regret turning it on now, but at the time, I was just feeling frustrated. I’m sorry.”
The 31-year-old then shared updates on his recent activities, including making music and practising choreography. RM also revealed that he will take his driving test soon and will move back home after months away. He then ends his post, telling fans to dress warmly and beware of the cold weather. In the post, the rapper also included a photo of him making the finger heart gesture, showing love to the ARMYs (BTS fans).

Fans have reacted to the post, voicing support for him amid the criticism. Some also expressed appreciation for the idol taking responsibility for his comments, noting that his candid remark could’ve brought misunderstandings. Fellow BTS member Jin (진) also commented on the post, writing, “I’ll always support our Namjoon.” However, the other members remain silent on the recent issues surrounding the group.
It takes a lot of courage to admit fault and take responsibility for one’s actions, so kudos to RM for his apology. Understandably, his comments came from concern for his group, so we hope things will mellow out for the stars. Here’s a clip of the now-viral livestream:
