Celebrities undergoing cosmetic procedures is nothing out of the ordinary, particularly in Hollywood. In Malaysia, however, the subject is not as openly discussed, as such procedures still carry some social and religious stigma, especially within the Muslim community.
Even so, there are a handful of celebrities who are unafraid to admit to going under the knife. Although she no longer lives in Malaysia, celebrity entrepreneur Nur Sajat recently received backlash after she revealed that she had a nose job. Here’s what she said to the criticism:

On 15th August, Nur Sajat shared a photo on Instagram revealing that she had undergone a cosmetic procedure on her nose. “Call it surgery, I call it self-love. My life, my rules, my happiness, my choice, my nose. Period,” she wrote in the caption. Prior to that, she had shared a quote stating that plastic surgery is not ‘fake happiness’ and that individuals should be free to do as they please with their bodies.
As expected, being a Muslim, she faced backlash over the nose job, with many accusing her of “butchering God’s creation”. In a now-deleted comment, the businesswoman responded to one of the criticisms, saying: “I’m not here to change God’s will. I just want to heal, to feel more confident and to embrace my own beauty. At my age, I don’t see anything wrong with that.” She added that the procedure was an act of self-love rather than an attempt to go against religion.

The mother-of-two acknowledged that people have the right to their opinions, but they won’t stop her from doing what she believes is best for her well-being. “For me, I chose happiness, confidence and peace in what I do,” she stated. In a follow-up post over the weekend, Sajat gave an update on her recovery, saying that she’s willing to endure the pain in order to feel more beautiful and is looking forward to seeing the results once she fully heals.
