Now, settle down you lovebirds. We know the air is still filled with love, but we are back again this week with new events for you after the spectacular pre-Valentine’s date ideas that we lined up for you last week.

For this week, not only do we have more events for you to keep the love and sparks flying between you and your partner, there’s also a Tekken championship for those old-timers who’d like to bring back the nostalgia, a new matcha ice cream shop to remind you life isn’t that bitter, and for the singles and adventurous; who knows, you might find your other half at one of the events 🙂

So, let’s jump straight into it!

1. Pads And Paws Cat Adoption Drive

Source: Facebook/@Pad And Paws

Date: 9am-3pm, 19th February

Location: The Waterfront, Desa ParkCity (behind The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf)

If you’re thinking of adopting a fur baby of your own, then head over to Kepong this Saturday to take one in as a family member and give them a forever home full of love and affection! You don’t have to bring anything, as they will be delivered right at your doorstep the next day. However, please do not adopt one impulsively! Ensure that you have the time and energy and are committed to caring for one of these fur babies first.

2. Tekken Championship

Date: 10am-6pm, 19th February

Location: Anniversary Theatre, Jalan Cenderawasih, Tasik Perdana, 50480 Kuala Lumpur

In accordance with Federal Territory Day and Kuala Lumpur Golden Jubilee Celebration, DBKL is hosting a Fighting Games Championship for the public to join. So, if you feel like reminiscing those nostalgic days you used to spend in the arcade playing Tekken, then this is the event for you this week!

3. Magic: The Gathering Virtual Art Exhibition

Date: 18th February

Location: Online (VR & PC)

If you’re a fan of tabletop card games, you would be more than familiar than “Magic: The Gathering”. If you just couldn’t get enough of the intricacy of the cards, this is your chance to attend a virtual exhibition of MTG featuring their freshly released set of “Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty” and experience it like you have never before.

Get transported to the world of Kamigawa and watch the cards come to life, listen to the commentary by the artists themselves, witness more than 30 unpublished materials, and you can even attend a community gathering in the “Octagonal Pavilion”!

4. Night of Blues

Date: 7.30pm-11.30pm, 18th February

Location: Jama KL, Lot J-G-03, Jalan Solaris, Mont Kiara, 50480, Kuala Lumpur.

If you’re itching to attend a live music gig, then this one is absolutely for you! Have a chill night with the blues session played by Josh Thomas, and sweat it out in a rock ‘n’ roll gig at the end of the night with Cats in Love.

5. DIY Soap Making Workshop

Date: 2pm, 19th February

Location: Soap Opera Kuala Lumpur, No.59, Jalan Ss1/34, Kampung Tunku, Petaling Lama, Kuala Lumpur.

Ever wondered if you could come up with your own soap fragrance? Have you always wanted to design your own soap bar? Then you’re in luck this week! Awaken your inner soap maker in this workshop by learning how to use different flowers and extracts to make soap. This might even be the jumpstart for your very own vegan soap business.

For the singles, we know we have been focusing on the lovebirds since last week, but don’t worry, this one’s for you. Head over to PLSC on Wednesday nights, because they have a night specially just for you. So, roll those roller blade wheels, get mingling and let someone else sweep you off your wheels for the night!

Bonus:

11. UNIQLO x MoMA

Location: UNIQLO outlets

This week, UNIQLO has launched its collection with Museum of Modern Art in New York, exactly on Valentine’s Day! So, if you think roses and chocolates are too mainstream to gift your partner this Valentine’s, then why not opt for something more artistic like Van Gogh’s iconic piece, “Starry Night” printed on a shirt? So, head over to the nearest UNIQLO outlet, and get a piece of the UNIQLO x MoMA collection today!
