The HP Mentorship Project oversaw the collaboration of eleven Malaysian creative youths and three industry professionals such as singer-songwriter Zee Avi, music producer and composer Daniel Veerapen, and creative director Edwin Raj. Together, they created three audio-visual experiences in the form of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) that brought awareness to the beautiful creatures living in Malaysia’s seas.
The three NFTs featuring Noodie the Noodibranch, powered by cutting-edge HP laptops, were unveiled at the mentorship project’s closing event. Furthermore, the mentors and mentees created 100 unique collectible NFTs, which will be available for viewing and purchase on NFT Pangolin, Malaysia’s newest CryptoArt marketplace.

Mentees of the HP Mentorship Project swiftly developed these art pieces using HP’s thoughtfully designed laptops by attending virtual classes with their mentors and collaborating online using HP QuickDrop and other tools.
Distance didn’t matter because the mentees and mentors were frequently separated – one of the mentees was even in Sabah. The HP ENVY, HP Spectre x360, and HP ZBook Firefly laptops provided to each mentee and mentor allowed them to produce the best work possible.
Managing Director of HP Alex Tan said, “At HP, we believe that one thoughtful idea has the power to change the world. Through this project, we brought technology and creativity together, enabling youth from around Malaysia to create and innovate powered by HP’s latest devices. We will continue nurturing young Malaysian talent and inspiring the next generation through mentoring projects just like this one.”
Additionally, half of all sales proceeds will be distributed to Kakiseni, an organisation that promotes creative expression in all Malaysians. The remaining half of the proceeds will be divided equally among the mentees to further their creative journey.
