One unfortunate thing many celebrities have to deal with is fake news – and it seems Malaysian-born media personality Nur Sajat has had enough. The queer icon recently became a victim of a death hoax following a post on Facebook.
The entrepreneur recently took to Instagram to share a screenshot of a post from the Facebook page “Resipi K.A. Club”. The post, which garnered over 240 comments, claimed that Nur Sajat had passed away after getting hit by a car while overseas. Fortunately, the news was fake, and Nur Sajat is still alive in Australia. However, the public figure was understandably unhappy with the individual spreading the terrible rumour.

In her captions, she wrote, “How dare you make up this story about me? Just because I rarely do live broadcasts, you make up ridiculous stories about me.” Sadly, Nur Sajat revealed that this isn’t the first time she became the victim of a death hoax, saying that a similar issue happened last year. She then lamented about such Facebook pages, expressing anger about them spreading rumours about celebrities.
Many netizens have since reacted to the post, voicing their disappointment towards the Facebook page. Some urged Nur Sajat to ignore the rumours, saying such posts are a tactic to gain likes and share affiliate links to earn money on social media. Local actress Nur Fazura also commented on the post, saying she has faced similar rumours. The star then wrote to Nur Sajat, urging her to be patient when dealing with such comments.

The Facebook page has since deleted their post about Nur Sajat, but a quick look shows many similar clickbait posts. It’s unfortunate that Nur Sajat became a victim of this Facebook page’s irresponsible posting, but we hope the public will be vigilant when it comes to such accounts spreading fake news.
