Taiwanese singer Annie Yi (伊能静) and artist Harlem Yu (庾澄庆)’s son Harrison Yu (庾恩利, 小哈利) has left many puzzled about his gender identity and sexual orientation, especially with his occasional appearance in women’s clothes.
Well, just recently, Harrison Yu dropped another bombshell. He reportedly made an official announcement and revealed he is gay!
The 21-year-old has not been shy about his cross-dressing habits, especially after his father, Harlem Yu publicly voiced his support of his son. However, Harrison had not touched on his gender identity nor his sexual orientation, despite noise from netizens. At least, until recently.
According to China Press, Harrison’s latest series of photos on his social network showed him flaunting himself in drag, wearing a pink tulle dress and kissing another guy. “I’m gay and proud of myself!” he reportedly stated. The photos have also led to some speculation that Harrison had revealed his sexuality as he was in love.
Since his coming out, his mom, Annie Yi, has reportedly been very supportive of his decision. Reportedly, Annie had a long talk with Harrison about “boundaries” in life, but after realising her son was “different”, she allegedly said “I (would) dance with him“, which many took to be tacit approval and support for her son.
Previously, Annie too had shared her support for Harrison Yu dressing in drag, and it seems she shares the same view when it comes to his sexual orientation. Well, it must certainly be heartwarming for Harrison to be so openly accepted by his parents!
On that note, most will be pleasantly surprised to discover that Harlem Yu will be performing at Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting on 24th and 25th November. Tickets will go on sale from 10th October at 10am.
