There are those who are blessed to have such loving and supportive parents. Some are very privileged to have parents who can accept them for who they are and what they do so it’s nice to see these people being able to live their lives as freely as they want.
However, people might question these parents’ decision to support their children in something that’s considered controversial or inappropriate like the time DS Vida let her daughter explore her sexual and gender identity. Fans and netizens are now asking another celebrity father about his son’s choice to cross-dress. Here’s what he has to say:

The internet had shown some concerns over Taiwanese singer Harlem Yu (庾澄慶)’s son’s gender identity. Other than performing, Harrison Yu (庾恩利) is also known to cross-dress from time to time as he has posted photos and videos of himself in women’s clothing on his Instagram. The 20-year-old has not been afraid to show off his feminine side to the world since after posting a photo of himself in a pink dress back in 2020.
When asked about his son’s peculiar lifestyle, the 61-year-old had nothing but kind words for his child. Speaking to Chinapress, the musician said he and his ex-wife Annie Yi (伊能靜) have nothing against their son dressing in drag. “I fully support my son so long as he is happy and healthy,” he said. The Mandopop singer shared that he admires his son’s artistic talents and wants him to be proud of the work he’s done.
The “Voice of China” coach also shared how his father’s support in his pursuit of music influenced him in how he raised his own children. “The way my dad handled things back then had a very big impact on me. It was only later that I realised how much he supported me and cared for me,” he told Chinapress.

During an interview back in December 2020, singer Annie Yi revealed that her son himself approached her to ask if she’d be okay with him posting photos of himself in drag. “I told him that he doesn’t have to bear any responsibility for anything that comes from his mum and dad’s careers. I said, yes, from today onwards, you are free. Remember that. You can be yourself completely,” she said.
Harrison is very lucky to have such amazing parents as them. May his parents always support him in whatever he chooses to do in life.
