Birthdays are those once-in-a-year celebrations. So, it isn’t a surprise that we would often try to milk it out for as long as possible. Well, local content creator Gatita Yan (Tong Lee Yan) has done the same; only on a grander and more extravagant scale!
Gatita commemorated her birthday on 27th October with the purchase of a brand new BMW car which cost a whopping RM400,000. But, Gatita recently shared that she wasn’t done with her presents. On 7th November, the OnlyFans creator shared the other gifts she’d bought for herself, which came up to a total of RM60,000!
Gatita uploaded her video a few days ago, claiming it was to show her RM60,000 worth of birthday gifts. “I’m going to show you guys what wasting money is (to an) uncontrolled, empowered woman,” she declared in her opening. And for the next 24 minutes, the 30-year-old unboxed plenty of branded items.
These included but were not limited to a T-shirt, denim jacket and perfume from Louis Vuitton, Adidas X GUCCI slippers, sweatpants and jacket, and some GUCCI sandals. There were also presents from her friends and she apparently got a jacket for her current boyfriend too!
Gatita also mentioned that she was perfectly capable of spending more than RM50,000 in two hours. “I need someone to take care of my wallet and help me manage my money, otherwise I will really spend (it all),” she sighed. But, she later added: “It’s my birthday so (it’s fine) to reward myself.”
Her fans were quick to agree as several praised the content creator for her temperament. “A woman with self-confidence and (the ability to make) a good life by herself is very attractive,” one said. “Working hard to earn, buying branded (items), not relying on men to (get it for you)… awesome,” another commented.
However, there were some who criticised her willful spending. “(You could have) better taste,” a netizen stated. “(It) feels like (you’re) buying it (because of) the brand and for vanity, not for (yourself).” Another advised her to spend her money wisely as she might not always be wealthy.
As always, Gatita was quick to respond to the comments via her Instagram Story. She agreed with their observations, saying she was indeed “tasteless and vain”. “That’s the kind of person I am,” she said. “Because I have no foresight, I changed my boyfriends six times!”
It certainly isn’t the first time Gatita has splurged on herself. And, we’re sure it won’t be the last! However, as the content creator herself pointed out, “the most important thing is to be happy and healthy“. All the best to you, Gatita Yan!
