As concert season ramps up in Kuala Lumpur, fans are once again signing up for presales, refreshing multiple devices, and bracing themselves for the inevitable ticket wars. Amid the excitement, it’s hard not to think about the artists who’ve come and gone… or skipped Malaysia altogether.
Over the years, our favourite acts have made tour stops across Asia, from Singapore and Bangkok to Tokyo and Jakarta. Sometimes, it feels like they’ll perform almost everywhere except Kuala Lumpur.
But when international artists do make Malaysia part of their tour, local fans never disappoint. We show up, sing every lyric, and prove exactly why we’re one of the region’s most passionate crowds. Here are 9 international artists who’ve performed in Malaysia before and why we’re more than ready to welcome them back.
Sabrina Carpenter
Sabrina Carpenter previously performed at the infamous Good Vibes Festival in 2023, just before the peak of her stardom. Now, with the success of her mostly North American/European “Short n Sweet” tour, fans would love a night in Asia with our favourite 5” superstar. Maybe a “Mans Best Friend” tour stop?
Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber is having a cultural resurgence, and we’re all living for it. The last time he played in Malaysia was 14 years ago. And we still have Bieber-fever. Both his Coachella 2026 weekends were spectacular attendances, maybe he’s open to touring again.
Sza
Sza’s been topping Malaysian Spotify listening numbers for years now, but the only time she’s performed was as part of the 2018 Good Vibes Festival in Genting Highlands.
Lorde
Lorde is currently touring in The Ultrasound World Tour supporting her fourth studio album, Virgin (2025). Featuring arena concerts across North America, Europe, and Oceania. She was also only here for a Good Vibes Festival almost 10 years ago sooo… it might be time for us to take it back to the tennis courts.
BLACKPINK
We got to see them live in both “BLACKPINK: In Your Area” world tour in 2019 and “Born Pink” in 2023. Although we love them solo, BLINKs want to experience them together one more time.
Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish first came to Malaysia in 2022 for her Happier than ever tour to almost 25,000 Malaysian fans, all of who are eagerly waiting for their turn to experience the magic all over again.
Coldplay
Coldplay performed their first-ever concert in Malaysia on November 22, 2023, at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour. The historic, sold-out show attracted over 81,000 fans, making it one of the most attended concerts in the band’s career.
Linkin Park
Linkin Park played in Malaysia twice, with both concerts held in Kuala Lumpur. Their first performance was on October 15, 2003, at Stadium Merdeka. They returned 10 years later for their second show on August 19, 2013.
BIGBANG
BIGBANG is one of the earliest K-pop acts to bring large-scale concerts to Malaysia, with multiple shows in KL during their peak. Even years later, their influence on the region’s K-pop scene is undeniable. A comeback tour stop? Instant chaos (the good kind).
Malaysia has never lacked the audience… only the tour dates.
From sold out stadiums to festival crowds that sing every word, the demand is already here. The streams, the fandoms, the energy, it’s all waiting!
Now we just need these artists to come back and see it for themselves.
