Over the weekend, the world celebrated Mother’s Day, a special day dedicated to the maternal figure in our lives. Besides taking their mothers out on a special celebration, many also took to social media to shower their mothers with love and affection.
Of course, celebrities and public figures are no exception to this! Many have also expressed their gratefulness and lessons they’ve learned from their mothers. From local celebs like Amber Chia and Siti Nurhaliza to Hong Kong actress Grace Chan, here’s how these stars celebrated Mother’s Day:
Jane Chuck
For influencer Jane Chuck, this year’s Mother’s Day was special as it was her first year celebrating as a mother! On 12th May, the social media personality took to Instagram to share that she had given birth to her first-born August, just before Mother’s Day.
Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza
Music icon Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza showed love for her mother and mother-in-law in an Instagram video captioned “My Heaven(s)”. She also included a prayer for both figures to wish them a lifetime of good health and happiness.
Amber Chia
Supermodel Amber Chia (谢丽萍) celebrated her mother by presenting her with a rose bouquet and showering her with kisses. She also celebrated the special occasion with her son Ashton, sharing a throwback photo of the two when the 14-year-old was a newborn.
Nur Sajat
Malaysian-born queer icon Nur Sajat celebrated Mother’s Day by sharing photos on Instagram of her with her mother. Since Sajat migrated to Australia, she hasn’t met her mother – and through her post, we can see how much she misses her.
Dee Hsu
Taiwanese celeb Dee Hsu (徐熙娣) is mother to three teenage daughters, and each of them had prepared gifts for her on Mother’s Day. The 46-year-old then took to Instagram to share her reaction to all her girls’ gifts, which included a touching letter and a giant bouquet.
Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh
Oscar-winning actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh celebrated her mother with a post thanking her for her love and support throughout the years. While she isn’t a mother herself, Michelle did also receive a Mother’s Day bouquet from her godchildren, including goddaughter Dee Poon (daughter of ex-husband Dickson)

Renowned singer-songwriter Yuna celebrated Mother’s Day with a touching post dedicated to her mother and all the mothers affected by the ongoing war in Palestine. She also urged the public to continue speaking up for the mothers going through oppression and hardships.
Grace Chan
For Mother’s Day, Hong Kong actress Grace Chan (陳凱琳) first celebrated her mother by sharing some snapshots of the two and a lighthearted video of them dancing together. She also celebrated herself as a mother to three boys, sharing photos of them taken throughout the years.
