As part of its acclaimed Collection Matières, the fragrance treats the ingredient not as a sweet indulgence, but as the heart of a composition layered with warmth, luminosity, and understated sensuality.
The story of Vanille Caviar begins in Madagascar, where BDK Parfums founder David Benedek wandered through fragrant vanilla plantations. Watching freshly split pods reveal their glossy black seeds (resembling caviar) left a lasting impression that would later shape the fragrance’s identity. Working alongside perfumer Alexandra Carlin, Benedek translated that memory into a composition centred on vanilla CO₂ extract, vanilla absolute, and a bespoke Vanilla Caviar Accord.
Opening with the vibrant freshness of blackcurrant bud and the gentle spice of cardamom, Vanille Caviar gradually reveals a heart of cocoa bean and osmanthus before melting into a rich base of Peru balsam and cistus labdanum. The result is a smooth woody amber dry-down that feels warm, textured, and unexpectedly modern.
