Who doesn’t love a good ghost story, especially when it’s told by someone who has experienced the supernatural or paranormal firsthand? A few of our local celebrities have shared their encounters with strange entities while at work, and how they felt when these incidents occurred.
In this list, we’ll be sharing some of the famous ghost stories recounted by your favourite K-pop idols. From eerie sightings to being trapped in a lift with a ghost, it seems like no one is truly safe from paranormal activity.
1. Lisa (리사)(BLACKPINK)

In November 2024, Lisa shared her most recent paranormal experience. While staying in one of the hotels during her travels, the rapper claimed to have heard a strange knocking on her door at around 1 a.m. or 2 a.m. She stayed at the hotel for three nights, and each night, she heard the same knocking at the same time. On the third night, she realised that she was facing the doorway every time the paranormal activity occurred.
This was not her first encounter with the supernatural, as the dancer has had several similar experiences in the past. Previously, she shared that she believed her bin was haunted and recounted the time she saw a figure resembling Rosé walking into the living room of the old BLACKPINK dormitory.
2. Jisoo (김지수)(BLACKPINK)

During a group interview on KIIS.fm in 2019, Jisoo shared that while practising choreography in front of a mirror in BLACKPINK’s shared walk-in closet, she saw a white hand moving among the clothes. Terrified, she ran out of the room. Sometime later, Lisa returned from Thailand and told her members about a psychic who had warned her about a hand in their closet — unaware of Jisoo’s experience.
3. Moonbyul (문별) & Solar (솔라)(MAMAMOO)
During MAMAMOO’s appearance on the Knowing Brother show in 2016, members Moonbyul and Solar shared similar supernatural experiences, both involving Hwasa. Moonbyul explained that she was woken up by the strange sound of someone rummaging through her drawer while she was asleep on the top bunk. She peeked and saw Hwasa eating candy.
When she asked her member the next day, Hwasa revealed that she had been in her hometown in Jeonju, making it impossible for her to be back at the dorm that night, as it was too far away. Solar also revealed that she had seen a figure resembling Hwasa at the dorm while the idol was in her hometown as well.
4. Jungkook (정국)(BTS)
Back in the old BTS dorm, maknae Jungkook had a spooky encounter with an entity whom he thought was Suga at first. In 2022, the singer shared that he was alone in the dorm and taking a shower when he saw a very pale ankle walking into a room. Believing it was Suga, he went to greet him after he finished washing up only to realise he was alone in the dorm.

Getting stuck in a lift is frightening enough, but being trapped in one by a ghost is definitely scarier. In an episode of CRAVITY’s reality series, member Taeyoung recalled the night he entered a lift after a dance practice at 1am. He pressed the button for the fourth floor but didn’t realise it had been cancelled. Instead, the button for the twenty-fifth floor lit up.
Thinking he hadn’t pressed the button properly, he cancelled the twenty-fifth floor and pressed the fourth floor again. However, the panel once again cancelled the fourth floor, and the twenty-fifth floor lit up as the lift ascended. Fortunately, nothing happened, but we can imagine the fear he must have felt that night.
