Have you ever experienced something supernatural or paranormal? Things that go bump in the night, something at the corner of your eye or even hearing someone crying at 3am in the toilet at college? Ghost stories are always fun to share whether or not you or the listener believes in ghosts or not.
You’d hear stories by ordinary people everyday but just how often do you get to hear ghost stories from your favourite celebrities? Sometimes we forget that just because they’re famous, doesn’t mean they’re immune to being “haunted”. Here are 5 ghost encounters shared by local celebrities.
1. Hashmitha Selvam and the Mystery Voice

Starting our list is Malaysian singer Hashmitha Selvam who released her song “Takkan Kembali” a few years ago. The single was accompanied by the music video and fans noticed a soft creepy whisper during the first chorus of the song.
The singer claimed that there was no editing or second vocal added during that part of the song. To make it even creepier, a crew member had to go to the hospital after suddenly falling ill on set of the music video. Hashmitha herself said that she fell sick after filming.

2. Nadzmi Adhwa and the Hitchhiker

Malaysian actor Nadzi Adhwa shared his scary experience during the time when he was filming the 2019 horror movie “Anak Perjanjian Syaitan”. The movie was Nadzmi’s first leading role as an actor and the production took place in an old bungalow in Kuang, Selangor.
Nadzmi shared that throughout the entire filming of the movie, he felt like he was being followed or watched especially at night. The actor said that he heard voices in the middle of the night and there was also a time where someone or something hitched a ride at the back of his car at midnight after filming wrapped up.

3. Bella Astillah and the Pocong

There’s something about filming horror movies or series that makes these ghosts want to make a cameo appearance. Actress Bella Astillah shared her ghost story of when she was filming an episode for the horror series “Malaysian Ghost Stories”.
At the time, Bella played a penanggal in one episode but during filming, she caught sight of what looked like a pocong from afar. She first found out about the ghostly figure after her make-up artist mentioned that they saw something. The actress used her camera phone to zoom in to get a closer look at the entity. Luckily the scary encounter didn’t disturb Bella’s focus when acting.

4. Fazura and the Pontianak

The ghostly encounter on our list is by Malaysian actress Fazura who shared her own experience of seeing a pontianak while filming “Dendam Pontianak”, what a coincidence. Fazura shared that the entity appeared several times at night throughout the entire filming of the movie.
The ghostly figure was described to be a woman with long hair wearing a white kebaya, similar to how the actress looked like in makeup and costume when she played the iconic ghost. Everyone on set agreed to leave the entity alone and thankfully, filming went smoothly without any serious disturbances.
