Kuala Lumpur, the city that never sleeps. Every month, new bars and hangout spots open their doors to the ever-growing nightlife in the city. So, to save you some time researching the next best place to spend your weekends at, here are 5 new spots we recommend:

Bā by 61M

Bā by 61M is an offshoot of the much-loved 61 Monarchy, located at The Five, Kuala Lumpur’s most talked-about dining hub. The bar offers a carefully-curated collection of whisky and sake, all of which are heavily influenced by Japanese culture. The bar is split into two areas, one for sake and one for whisky. People who are looking for a quick bite can also head over to their bar for some beautifully-prepared sushi rolls and bite-sized delights.

Location: Jalan Gelenggang, Bukit Damansara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur

Opening Hours:

Mon – Thu: 5pm-12am. Last call: 11.30pm

Fri, Sat, PH Eve: 5pm-2am. Last call: 1.30am

720s Bar

If you’re looking for a spot that serves American craft cocktails, 720s bar is the place to go. Located in TTDI, the bar is located behind a mysterious black door, where you will be transported into a sophisticated space with great music. They serve delicious concoctions such as their staple ‘Funky Juice’ (includes ginger and carrot), and Wild Berries (a combination of chocolate, gin and berries).

Flint KL

For those looking to have a chill, alcohol-free night out, Flint is the next cafe spot you should hit up. Located at The Curve, the sleek and welcoming environment makes it a great hangout spot for groups of friends. While their mocktails definitely live up to the hype, their food menu is the star of the show, with unique dishes like Reverse Ravioli Tiger Prawns and Chicken Roulade that’s panko-crusted with a bone marrow butter infusion.

Location: Lot G 41A – G 43, The Curve, 6, Jln PJU 7/3, Mutiara Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya

Opening Hours: 8am-10pm. Opens Daily.

Ling Long

Ling Long blends the most unexpected of pairings: French and Chinese cuisine. True to its name, which translates to “exquisite” or “intricate” in Chinese, the fusion restaurant flawlessly blends the best of both worlds, offering a refined dining experience. Make sure to book ahead, as there are only limited spots available.

Bar Hanareya

Another spot that serves excellent sake cocktails is Bar Hanareya, located in Setia Alam. Being the neighbourhood’s first-ever sake cocktail joint that specialises in otsumami (Japanese snacks paired with alcohol), their menu certainly does not disappoint, offering thoughtful tributes to classic nibbles, such as edamame, fermented red snapper with cream cheese, as well as heartier meals of okonomiyaki and udon for those who want something more filling.
