Last week, the Auntie Anne’s outlet at Mid Valley Megamall fired a staff member after she posted photos and videos of her unsanitary behaviour in the kitchen. It was later discovered that the now-former employee, Alice Chang, is the sister of the infamous con artist Adeline Chang. Netizens called for Alice to be banned from the food and beverage industry, but surprisingly, she was spotted working at a McDonald’s outlet in SS2, Petaling Jaya recently.

A customer recognised Alice during a visit to the McD store over the weekend. In her original post on Xiaohongshu, she mentioned that she had already placed an order before realising who was serving customers behind the counter. The woman expressed her concerns, saying she would not feel comfortable touching her food if it had been handled by the former Auntie Anne’s staff member.

“I’ve DM-ed McD about the incident but they haven’t gotten back to me yet. Although I’ve made my purchase, as a customer, I still have the right to complain,” she wrote. At the time of writing, there’s been no update about Alice’s employment status at the fast-food chain. However, this is apparently her latest attempt at a job after being rejected by an ice cream parlour at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Following her sister’s termination at Auntie Anne’s Mid Valley, Adeline shared a post on Facebook about Alice’s recent work experience at Cold Stone Creamery in Pavilion KL. The notorious public figure claimed that her sibling was let go on her first day and that the company refused to compensate her for her work. “I can consider it a charity for the company, but I can’t believe they want to scam my sister by withholding half a day’s pay,” the internet personality alleged.

The dessert brand quickly issued a statement to address the allegations. The company clarified that Alice was never an employee at the Pavilion KL outlet to begin with. “[Alice] came wanting to be a part-timer, hiding her identity. We did not hire her nor did she have access to the food. As part of our proactive measures, we have thoroughly cleaned the outlet,” Cold Stone Creamery explained. Given Adeline’s history of false allegations, it’s not surprising that this may also be a case of her wanting to stir up trouble again.

As for how Alice is handling the negative attention, she’s taking it quite well, much like her sister. After going viral, the current McD worker proudly declared herself an internet celebrity on her Instagram Story.“I am now an internet celebrity! Do you want Alice Chang to work at your store? If you want me to endorse your product then please contact me [on IG]. If you want to talk about salary, please contact me privately,” she wrote. The self-proclaimed influencer even asked followers to transfer her money for a Grab ride home and food since she would have to wait a month for her salary.

We have a feeling that this may not be the last time we’ll hear about these two sisters. What do you think?
