YoloFoods makes your favourite meals healthy, with local favorites such as Nasi Lemak, Rendang Chicken, and Butter Chicken all prepared with better ingredients and balanced nutrition in mind. All you have to do is reheat the meal in just 3-5 minutes and you’re done. You don’t even have to bother about plates and bowls because YoloMeals come in microwaveable containers, which makes reheating quick and easy. The containers are also environmentally-friendly, as they can be recycled.

Taste Test

One thing’s for sure – whenever you switch to eating healthy, you gotta remember that you will never get the same taste as regular food. That’s because healthy meals are prepared with the required protein, fibres, lean meats and other things that make a meal wholesomely healthy. That’s the whole point to eating healthy, isn’t it? To us, YoloFoods definitely introduces a different taste to our palate. But it’s delicious! Here are some of the meals we’ve tried:

Gong Bao Chicken

A healthier take on the famous Sichuan dish featuring stir-fry chicken cooked in a mouth-watering fragrant, spicy sauce and served alongside eggplants and brown rice. Honestly, the gong bao chicken tasted really good and with cashews, you get crunch in every bite. Since we’re not used to eating brown rice, it felt a bit off, but eating it with eggplant and chicken made all the difference.

Teriyaki Salmon

This dish features salmon glazed and baked in teriyaki sauce and served with fresh edamame and kimchi salad on a bed of brown rice. Salmon is the best kind of fish. Not to mention, when it’s drizzled with teriyaki sauce, it’s da bomb. We love how the fish is tender and full of flavour.

Basil Minced Chicken

If you’re a Thai food fan, then you should go for the Basil Minced Chicken. The minced chicken breast is cooked in a soy-based sauce with aromatic Thai basil, paired with warm soy egg and brown rice. Taste-wise, it’s impressive. We never thought the healthier version of this Thai dish would be so nice. It’s a bit spicy, especially for those with low heat tolerance. Visually, it may not look the best but this dish was easily one of our favourites!

Nasi Lemak

The classic Malaysian dish – but the healthier version! This nasi lemak features a flavourful turmeric chicken served with aromatic basmati rice that’s cooked in coconut milk and served alongside sambal chilli sauce, crunchy peanuts, dried anchovies and fresh cucumbers. Surprisingly, it tastes like regular nasi lemak – but you can tell it’s slightly healthier, with the turmeric chicken and smaller portions.

Honey Miso Tempeh

YoloFoods

Baked soybean tempeh that’s marinated in home-made miso, served with quinoa and a side of broccoli. Sweet, savoury and crunchy. We absolutely love the crunchy broccoli, and the marinated soybean tempeh was epic.

Beef Bolognese Pasta

YoloFoods

A classic pasta dish made with lean beef bolognese, served with roasted mushroom for a deep, earthy flavour. The pasta is also topped with a generous amount of Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley. For us, the pasta isn’t as soft as expected, but taste-wise, it isn’t that bad. But you know, frozen meat and pasta can be difficult to chow down, and we think it needs slightly more than 3 minutes to defrost.

Lamb Kofta

YoloFoods

For something exotic, you can go for the Lamb Kofta, which comes with couscous and sides of fresh cucumber, mint yoghurt and a sprinkle of pomegranate. We really like the fresh mint yoghurt, and the pomegranate added a hint of sweetness to the entire dish. The lamb cutlets were slightly hard to bite into – maybe they needed more time to defrost.

Overall, we had a good experience of YoloFoods’ meal plan. You can eat wholesome, healthy meals without sacrificing flavour. The meal plans are very convenient, regardless of whether you have a specific health goal in mind or need healthy meals to fit your busy lifestyle. Additionally, YoloFoods helps you save time and effort when it comes to meal planning, grocery shopping, meal preparation, and cooking.
