Cosmetic procedures and surgeries have become increasingly common, especially in the entertainment industry. Despite the hesitation many people in societies like Malaysia might feel about openly discussing such treatments, a growing number of celebrities are now openly embracing and discussing their decision to undergo these enhancements without any sense of shame.
In a recent TikTok video, actress Fathia Latiff shared details about her journey with cosmetic enhancements, including botox and filler injections, aimed at achieving a more youthful and beautiful appearance. Renowned for her role in Ariana Rose, the actress disclosed that she has undergone several facial treatments to alter almost her entire face. “I’ve had fillers for my lips, eyes, botox, nose, everything,” she confessed.

The actress emphasised that such procedures have become routine and expressed that she is unfazed by public opinions. “Yes, I’ve had fillers and Botox and all that, but I feel it’s normal now because I’m getting older. When I was younger, my face was still firm. I don’t care what people say, I only care about what my mom says. When my mom advises me, I listen. She has advised me to stop making changes to my face, but since I’m quite attached to my mom, I persuaded her, and she was like, ‘Do whatever you want.’”
The actress also believes that enhancing one’s appearance is a natural progression in adapting to modern beauty ideals. “We need to keep up with the times. It used to be something people were shy about, but now it’s normal. I feel that if it’s for making ourselves look better, why not? If we feel insecure about our appearance, it’s not a problem. What’s important is that after doing it, we feel confident, happy to go out, and don’t need to wear much makeup,” she said.

Reflecting on her previous appearance, the actress shared her personal struggles with body image. “I feel that my face used to be gaunt and I don’t understand why people said, ‘Fathia, you were beautiful before,’ even though I honestly felt I looked gaunt and unattractive. Maybe it was because I was too thin. So now, to get back to working (acting), I need to be slim again,” she said.
Fans were quick to comment that she looked better before the procedures. Some even compared her current appearance to that of former DOLLA member, Syasya Rizal’s grandmother, actress Rozie Othman.
