“Fifty Shades Darker” is slowly packing on the star power.
Tyler Hoechlin is the latest actor to join the boys club in the “Fifty Shades Of Grey” sequel. The “Teen Wolf” star will take on the role of Boyce Fox, a character who didn’t get much love in E. L. James’ trilogy, with only a brief mention in the “Fifty Shades” saga.
According to The Wrap, Boyce Fox is a very minor player in the “Fifty Shades” books (he does not even make an appearance in the narrative). However, his role as the first author Anastasia Steele signs to Christian Gray’s new publishing company Seattle Independent Publishing (SIP) will be expanded for the film.
James was the first to confirm the hunky actor’s casting on her Twitter account, saying, “Meet Boyce Fox” while quoting the publication’s article about the 28-year-old star. Hoechlin immediately replied James’ post via the same media channel, tweeting, “Happy and honoured to be here… #FSF“.

Hoechlin’s tweet also confirmed his involvement in the franchise’s third film titled, “Fifty Shades Freed”. He joins Eric Johnson (who plays Jack Hyde, Christian Grey’s nemesis), Kim Basinger (who is Elena Lincoln aka Mrs. Robinson, the lady responsible for introducing Christian Grey to the world of BDSM) and Bella Heathcote (as Leila, who is another one of Grey’s ex).
Hoechlin is best known for his MTV’s “Teen Wolf” role as Derek Hale. The actor previously announced that although he is no longer a series regular on the TV show, Hale’s story is not yet entirely over.
