Fans would normally go crazy whenever their idols show a lot of skin onstage, in photoshoots or even as their characters on TV. Previously, we had K-pop fans thirsting over BTS’ RM (김남준) and influencer No Ji Soo (노 지 수)’s shirtless bodies. Prior to that, many lost their minds when TWICE’s Mina teased fans with her Fendi underwear.
Fans also showed a lot of interest in ASTRO’s Cha Eun-woo (차은우)’s very sexy Dior photoshoot earlier this month rocking out some chest-baring outfits. However, for some reason, the same cannot be said when he donned the same outfit at a public event. Here’s why:
Cha Eun-woo along with other Korean celebs like actors Jung Hae-in (정해인) and Lomon (로몬) attended the Dior 2024 Dioriviera Collection launch event at the brand’s concept store in Seongsu-dong, Seoul yesterday (Wednesday, 29th May). As seen in the photos above, the idol was seen wearing a very revealing outfit which showed off much of his upper body. The vest-like top was only held together by a singular knot.
Surprisingly, not everyone was happy with the singer’s choice of clothing at the event. While some praised the ASTRO member for his good looks, many were actually disappointed with the styling, questioning the design of the outfit. Some said they didn’t understand the exposing nature of the outfit while others suggested that the overall look felt lazy and that the celeb needed a better stylist. Here are some of the negative comments:
- “No, but all the revealing clothes are bad. The stylist needs to do better.”
- “PRADA and others are really showing a lot of chests.”
- “It looks like they didn’t finish dressing; the outfit is bad.”
- “Why is it like that?”
Those on Twitter, on the other hand, were more than delighted to see their idol showing off his hot physique with many saying they couldn’t get enough of him. Cha Eun-woo wasn’t the only one who was criticised for his outfit as the aforementioned actors also received some mixed reactions for theirs.
Korean netizens were mostly confused about the event’s dress code saying that the outfits resembled hospital gowns while others felt like the clothes did not fit the Korean celebs’ image. Here’s what some of them said:
- “Why did they choose that dress code? Really?”
- “It kind of reminds me of a health check-up outfit.”
- “Jung Hae-in doesn’t suit that image, so it feels even more awkward.”
- “It kind of looks like a patient’s gown, haha.”
- “Jung Hae-in really doesn’t suit it, hahaha.”
- “Did all the shirts come out like that? Why?”
