Following their debut in the Chinese market with “Cream”, EXID has dropped another Chinese single.

This time, it’s the hit song which propelled them to fame, “Up & Down”. The music video was made public at midnight today (Tuesday, 10th January) and coincided with leader Solji’s birthday.

“Up & Down” was originally released in February 2013 as an original soundtrack for K-drama “Incarnation Of Money”, and was then subsequently made public as an official single for the group in August 2014. It failed to garner much attention and charted poorly. However, as luck would have it, a fancam of Hani performing the song went viral in early October, gaining millions of views in a matter of weeks. The song reentered charts and EXID was invited to promote on music shows again, and as they say, the rest is history.

While the Korean music video was filled with sexual innuendos, the latest one showed them dressed in traditional Chinese clothing while dancing in several Chinese landmarks. The song is sung in Chinese, with the exception of LE’s rap part, which remains in Korean.

While leader and main vocalist Solji shot the music video with the other members, she won’t be attending any promotions as she has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. No word on when she will be back, but the member is currently focusing on her treatment.
