#ElectricRunMY: 7 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Miss This Year’s Trippy Fun Run

Among the many themed fun runs slated to happen in Malaysia this year, the one that we’ve been looking forward to the most is none other than the Electric Run Malaysia. In fact, we made up our minds right after last year’s inaugural Electric Run Malaysia event that we’d definitely be going back 🙂

If you weren’t at last year’s installment, fret not. This year promises to be bigger and better, with many more features added. Thanks to our friends from The Livescape Group, we got first dibs on what to expect from Electric Run Malaysia 2016.

Check it:

1. Additional trippy course lands to render you dizzy

Last year’s course lands (Candy Lane, Rainforest, Water Station, Neffmau5 Land, Under The Sea, Rainbow Road, The Powerhouse) were impressive to us because of its novelty factor. This year’s will easily top that because there will be new zones, which means new experiences! That’s right. Electric Run Malaysia 2016 will return with the 7 dazzling course lands from its debut and will feature 2 new, never before seen course lands which will highlight Malaysia in all its neon glory.

2. It’s family fun for everyone

Want to bring your kid or your younger family members? You can! Entry for children under 12 years of age is free*. One (1) parent is allowed to bring only one (1) child/participant under 12 years old, and child must be accompanied by a successfully registered parent, adult legal guardian, or an eligible adult care person at all times. But you best hurry because there are limited free registrations available on a first come first serve basis.

*No race kit will be provided for children under 12 years of age.

3. Post-run celebration with an international artiste

Electric Run Malaysia 2015 saw the race culminating in an exhilarating finish line celebration where participants partied with some of the biggest names in Malaysia including acts like Enterprise, Paperplane Pursuit, Kyoto Protocol, Jin Hackman and Dae Kim, and Nesh and TRuF. And also, a spectacular fireworks show. For this year’s edition, the organisers are promising an international artiste to headline the post-run celebration stage. More details to be revealed soon 😉

4. F&B + merchandise galore at the Market Place

If you were at Electric Run Malaysia last year, you’d know that the activities span beyond just fitness alone. As Malaysians are known for their love of food, last year’s event had vendors lining up to provide participants with an “on noms galore” such as Judicious, Nathan’s Foodtruck, Bubu Foodtruck, A Pie Thing, NS Kitchen, Food Express by Sisterlicious, Burgergilerpower, Huios, and Vitamin Factory. This year, the Market Place will feature even more F&B and merchandise to “fuel” you before your run 😉

5. The more, the merrier, the cheaper

The registration fee is priced at RM88 per person but did you know that there’s a way to score a 10% discount off? How, you ask? Register for a little cheaper when you bring three (3) other friends! When you sign up for Electric Run Malaysia 2016 in a group of four (4), each person’s slot will be priced at RM79.20*. After all, and as always, the more the merrier!

*Not inclusive of GST and RM3 ticketing fee per pax.

6. New & improved race kit

No run is complete without a kit you can keep and remember it by. For Electric Run Malaysia 2016, every participant will receive a race tee, a finisher’s medal, drawstring bag, a temporary Electric Run sticker tattoo, 2 glow sticks, and an LED bracelet as part of their race kit. And yes, just in case you were wondering, this year’s kit will be different from the last. Limited edition souvenirs from Electric Run Malaysia 2016, if we dare say 🙂

7. Be a part of history

The inaugural Electric Run Malaysia saw 12,000 enthusiastic runners at the event, bagging the title of “Largest Participation In A Neon Run” in The Malaysia Book of Records. And we’re proud to say that we were a part of it! Will this year’s participation beat 2015’s? Be a part of it and find out 🙂

Not convinced? Our recap of last year’s Electric Run here.
