This is a huge day for Ed Sheeran fans: Not only were concert details for his pitstops in Malaysia and Singapore unveiled, he also released a brand new music video for “Galway Girl”.
“Galway Girl”, the 3rd single taken from his “Divide” album, is also one of our favourite songs from the record. Unlike his previous music videos for “Shape Of You” and “Castle On The Hill”, this latest clip is refreshingly low-key.
For those of you that don’t know, “Galway Girl” was shot a couple of weeks ago when Sheeran was on tour in Ireland. The visual kicks off with the 26-year-old pop star performing to an enthusiastic crowd before leaving the stage to go to O’Connor’s bar in Galway.
Filmed from the singer’s perspective (the camera was literally attached to his waist), we see him roaming the streets of Ireland. Oscar-nomimated actress Saoirse Ronan plays his love interest. Together, the couple embark on a series of shenanigans.
After downing a few drinks and playing darts, Sheeran and Ronan interrupt a group of female dancers, support a street performer, take selfies with fans before getting a tattoo. The chart-topping ginger recently revealed that Ronan pulled a prank on him when she purposely spelled “Galway Girl” as “Galway Grill”. Lol!
