Fancy having your meal high above ground? No, we don’t mean eating peanuts on an airplane. It’s a typical 4-course meal prepared by a chef – except that it’s in the sky.
The aerial dining experience is back in Malaysia again, this time held at the South Paddock of Sepang International Circuit. Patrons will be hoisted up 150 feet above ground level during the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix – hence the attraction “Watch The Race From The Sky”, which is a by-product of the Dinner In The Sky experience.
Held over the course of 3 days (from 28th October till 30th October), the thrilling experience gave diners an amazing view of the MotoGP race and a 360° view of the track.
Last Friday (28th October), we were invited to take part in the preview for “Watch The Race From The Sky” and boy, were we pumped up during the days leading up to the occasion. Can you blame us? Not many have had the opportunity to dine openly while high up in the sky.
Here are some of our highlights from “Watch The Race From The Sky”:
1. Different point of view of the race
To all MotoGP enthusiasts, watching the MotoGP race on your home soil is a thrilling experience in itself. But watching the various warm-up sessions on the day gave us a taste of what MotoGP fans will experience when one of the biggest motorcycle races on earth takes at the race track down below.
2. Tantalising canapé
The chef on duty presented us with a plate of decorative food, consisting of 4 canapés. From left to right: Cured salmon served with garden greens with plum and apple cider dressing, baked potato layers with mushroom and chestnut duxelle, chicken roulade with Asian barbeque glaze, and last but not least, red velvet cone with cream cheese frosting.

3. Conquering fear of heights
We are certainly no daredevils. So what if you’re scared to death of heights? Is it still worth the risk? Hell yeah!
Rest assured that the staff at hand will fasten your seat belts to make sure that everyone is safely secured before taking to the sky. While it can be nerve-wrecking to look down below, we’d advised you to focus on your surroundings instead. Take in the beautiful view and look into the vast distance. We’re sure you’d be able to snap several Instagram-worthy photos 😉
