Imagine having your dinner far above ground with an amazing sea view stretching in every direction. You can now make this dream a reality with Dinner In The Sky, a Belgian-based novelty dining service.

When 2Spicy Entertainment first brought the Dinner In The Sky experience to Malaysia last August, it sold out within 48 hours! For those who missed out on last year’s event, fret not, because Dinner In The Sky Malaysia is set to return next month. This time, moving from KL Tower to Penang’s ThirtyTwo At The Mansion!

David Ghysels first debuted Dinner In The Sky in May 2006 when he brought together a communications agency specialised in gourmet pleasures and a company specialised in amusement park installations deploying cranes to offer audiences a once in lifetime experience.

This unique concept even earned them a spot in Forbes magazine’s top 10 most unusual restaurants in the world. To date, the Dinner In The Sky franchise has hosted over 5,000 dinner events in 43 different countries around the world.

Amongst the iconic locations whereby Dinner In The Sky has taken place includes The Las Vegas Strip, the gardens of the King David Hotel, the Marina of Dubai, the hills of the Villa Borghese in Rome, the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the beach of Copacabana, Brazil and Cape Town bay.

When Dinner In The Sky made Kuala Lumpur its first pitstop in South East Asia last year, it drew a lot of curiosity and interest. Many wanted to experience this thrilling aerial dinner that promised an amazing view of Kuala Lumpur city.

This was reflected in the overwhelming reception DITS received last year. 2Spicy Entertainment Managing Director Dato’ Brian Corvers told Malaysian Digest that they had a waiting list of 15,000 people. No kidding!

Here is a short video of last year’s Dinner In The Sky Malaysia featuring some of our local celebrities:

This year’s DITS will be hoisted next to the scenic Penang coastline, giving diners a spectacular view of the sea, sunset as well as Penang’s skyline. So get your selfie sticks ready people! You wouldn’t want to miss out on this amazing photo-taking opportunity.

DITS will be providing this one-of-a-kind experience via 2 dinners daily on weekdays and 3 dinners on weekends from February till March, with a menu of a 4-course dinner that also caters to vegetarians.
