Italian food is definitely a fan favourite in Malaysia. From risotto, to pasta and, of course, everyone’s beloved pizza, almost everyone you know will love at least one Italian dish, in some way shape, or form.

And when you love something, what do you do? Celebrate it, of course! This month, in conjunction with the 7th Edition of the “Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World”, Malaysians around the country will be able to experience the beloved cuisine in all its authenticity and deliciousness.

Organised by the Italian Foreign Ministry in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and Italian Trade Agency in Kuala Lumpur, the Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World will be working with 20 Italian restaurants across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kota Kinabalu, and Langkawi from 5th to 11th December 2022. For the full list of restaurants, please visit their official website, here.

There, Malaysians can enjoy special recipes and menus made especially for connoisseurs and Italian culture aficionados for one week. And, if you’re still craving for authentic Italian cuisine even after this week, be sure to look out for the “Settimana della cucina Italiana nel Mondo 2022” sticker logo, as it means the restaurant has been approved by the Italian Embassy and Italian Trade Agency in Kuala Lumpur.

But that’s not all! Malaysians can also learn more about the identity and history of Italian cuisine, courtesy of the University of Gastronomic Sciences (UNISG) of Pollenzo. The prestigious, world-class university located in northern Italy will be working to curate an online course of 20 video lessons where you can upskill your Italian cuisine knowledge and cooking skills.

So, what are you waiting for? If you love Italian cuisine just as much as we do, then buckle up because you’re going to have the most amazing week of your life! You can learn more about the “Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World”, here.
