Calling all Saint Seiya fans, the popular saga is getting a live-action treatment on the big screen! The original manga was published in 1985 and has since spawn numerous spin-off series, anime, and video games. It’s exciting that we’re now getting an action film in the form of “Knights Of The Zodiac”.
With Stage 6 Films and Toei Animation looking to make as many as six films in total, “Knights Of The Zodiac” will kick off the saga and explore the storylines of our favourite iconic characters.
The official plot synopsis reads:
“Seiya (Mackenyu), a headstrong street teen, spends his time fighting for cash while he searches for his abducted sister. When one of his fights unwittingly taps into mystical powers he never knew he had, Seiya finds himself thrust into a world of warring saints, ancient magical training, and a reincarnated goddess who needs his protection. If he’s to survive, he will need to embrace his destiny and sacrifice everything to take his rightful place among the Knights of the Zodiac.”
Besides Mackenyu, the cast of “Knights Of The Zodiac” include:
- Madison Iseman plays Sienna – a girl who struggles with the responsibility of harnessing the power of the goddess Athena.
- Sean Bean plays Alman Kido – the recruiter and mentor who puts Seiya to the ultimate test to become a Knight of the Zodiac.
- Famke Janssen portrays Guraad – the leader of a secret organization that aims to seize the power of the goddess, Athena.
