Concert Review: B.I’s “The Last Parade” KL Show Was Something “To Die For”

Last year, B.I (비아이) gave fans an unforgettable show, one of the highlights being when he brought a few lucky audience members on stage to perform the “Tasty” encore with him. Making his return to the Mega Star Arena, the idol lit up the stage with his “The Last Parade” concert.

Although there were no onstage surprises this time, the show was nothing short of spectacular. From dazzling laser displays to fans leaping to their feet, and even an intimate song-listening session, the singer ensured the audience left with memories to treasure until his next performance in the country. Here’s what went down:

As the lights dimmed, the venue erupted with screams of anticipation. Dressed in a red, ringmaster-inspired jacket, B.I rose from a stage door in the floor to the upper level as the music struck up, launching straight into the tour’s title track, “Parade”. The opening number was followed by one of his most iconic tracks, “COSMOS”, and then “Free Fall”, as he made his way down to the lower level of the stage. His presence alone was enough to captivate the audience as he delivered the first three songs solo — just him and his microphone, a testament to his starpower.

After a brief interaction with fans, the idol launched into “To the Moon” before transitioning to his debut track “Illa Illa”. The moment the intro played, the crowd erupted, screaming and singing along at the top of their lungs. The energy continued with “BTBT”, which opened with a mesmerising dance intro, before shifting to “Keep Me Up”, enhanced by bursts of fire on the LED screens — a fitting backdrop to the atmosphere he created as he set the stage alight.

One of the highlights of the night came when the rapper urged everyone, even those in the seating zones, to stand, dance and jump along as he powered through high-energy tracks such as “Lover”, “All Shook Up” and “To Die”. The venue seemed to vibrate with excitement as the audience matched his energy, dancing and singing, almost as if everyone was putting on the show together with him.

After a short break, B.I returned to the stage, now dressed in a blue ripped jacket, for the second set of his concert, which featured tracks such as “Ferris Wheel”, “Hug Me” and “GRAY”. If the first half of the show highlighted his powerful and commanding side as a performer, the second half revealed a more bubbly, softer side, with a setlist of mid-tempo, easy-going tracks. Of course, the energy rose again when he launched into “Tasty”, a track firmly etched in fans’ memories after last year’s concert.

The concert soon took on the atmosphere of a nightclub as he performed “Flame”, “MICHAELANGELO” and “TTM”, accompanied by a breathtaking, mesmerising laser light show. This segment leaned into hip-hop, giving B.I the chance to showcase his rap skills and remind the crowd that he remains one of the best in the game. After such an energetic performance, with fans throwing their hands in the air and headbanging to each song, the show was nearing its end. The idol took this opportunity to express his gratitude to his team and the staff for their hard work in preparing the tour, and of course, the fans for attending and creating wonderful memories with him.

Of course, no K-pop concert would be complete without an encore. Returning to the stage in more casual attire, a T-shirt emblazoned with “ID ❤️” and even a wau, a traditional Malaysian kite, strapped to his back, B.I delighted fans with his playful look. The rapper took the opportunity to catch his breath by introducing the audience to 3 unreleased tracks, including “Mambo” and “Rainy Day”. It was during this intimate listening session that a fan handed him the Jalur Gemilang, which he proudly draped over himself.

Another highlight of the encore came when the idol stepped down into the audience, making his way up to the seating zones while singing a few of the mid-tempo tracks he had performed earlier in the night. Fans were thrilled to see him up close, with some even managing to snap selfies on their phones as he passed by, before he returned to the stage to bring the concert to a close. After thanking everyone for an incredible night, B.I climbed the stairs to the upper level of the stage and bowed before descending through the stage door.

Overall, the concert was every bit as memorable and impressive as his last. By the end of the night, we were left catching our breath. Here’s hoping B.I returns in the future with an even bigger, grander show for his fans. What was your highlight of the night?
