Things aren’t looking great for South Korean comedian Park Narae (박나래). The television personality, best known for her work on “Amazing Saturday” and “I Live Alone”, was recently the subject of a lawsuit from her former managers and alleged illegal medical procedures.
Earlier this month, Park Narae made headlines after her former manager accused her of power abuse. The two ex-managers also filed criminal charges against the comedian, alleging workplace harassment, aggravated assault, unpaid production expenses and proxy prescription. The latter accusation then sparked an investigation, with news outlets claiming that the star has been illegally obtaining medication through a woman known as “medicine auntie”.
The 40-year-old previously issued an apology for the recent issues and announced a temporary hiatus from her broadcasting activities. Earlier today (16th December 2025, Tuesday), Park Narae released a video message to address the issue. In the video, the comedian clarified her decision to step down from her scheduled programs. She said she didn’t want to cause any further confusion or burden to the production teams and her colleagues.
The video continues with the media personality saying, “Regarding the issues currently at hand, there are parts where the facts need to be carefully verified, and I’m in the process of legal procedures to do so. During this process, I’ll refrain from making any additional public statements or explanations. I believe this is not a matter of personal feelings or relationships, but one that must be verified objectively through official procedures.”
Park Narae added that she won’t be making any further comments on the recent issues to avoid creating further controversy. Netizens have since reacted to the video, mostly expressing disappointment that the television star didn’t apologise for the recent controversies. They also lamented that she should retire from showbiz, noting other issues regarding her personality and private life.
