Celebrate The Spirit Of Merdeka & Malaysia Day With Longines!

As vibrant spirits of unity soar to celebrate Malaysia’s 67th Independence Day, Longines proudly presents its timelessly elegant Hydroconquest GMT and Longines Spirit Sulu Time to mark this special occasion.

With Malaysia celebrating its 67th year of independence this year, Longines presents the HydroConquest GMT and Longines Spirit Zulu Time in titanium that will uplift both your spirit and style for Independence Day.

To mark this special occasion, Longines presents a series of images of the timepieces taken against the backdrop of Malaysia’s iconic buildings. Featuring the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and the world’s tallest twin towers, it showcases Malaysia’s rich history while demonstrating its architectural diversity and innovation.

The Sultan Abdul Samad Building, located at Independence Square, is a place that bears historical value to all Malaysians, where a 100m high flagpole stands erect. The flagpole, the world’s tallest, was erected at the very spot where the Malaysian flag was hoisted, marking the nation’s freedom on 31st August 1957.

As for the Twin Towers, they are the pride of Malaysia, with stories dating all the way back to the beginning of Kuala Lumpur, which became the capital of Malaysia in 1957. It symbolises the nation’s rise on the global stage, a visual representation of what can be achieved with determination and a touch of architectural brilliance. The majestic skyscrapers are a soaring symbol of Malaysia’s progress, innovation, and vision for the future.

Sporting bold style and outstanding functionality, the stunning elegance of the HydroConquest GMT and Longines Spirit Zulu Time watches are the perfect companions for this special occasion.

HydroConquest GMT

Combining performance and style, HydroConquest watches are designed for those who love pushing back boundaries and exploring new horizons. The HydroConquest GMT in 43 mm houses the exclusive Longines calibre L844.5, equipped with a silicon balance-spring and innovative components in non-magnetic materials. This movement’s resistance to magnetic fields is more than ten times greater than the ISO 764 reference standard. It boasts extreme precision and a power reserve of up to 72 hours.

With a green sunray dial, the model comes with a stainless steel bracelet with a double-safety folding clasp with micro-adjustment. The signature features of this watch inspired by the world of water sports include a unidirectional rotating bezel in black ceramic, water resistance up to 30 bar (300 metres), and a screw-in crown and screw-down back.

This extremely precise self-winding mechanical movement has a power reserve of up to 72 hours and is officially certified as a chronometer by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres). Water-resistant up to 10 bar (100 metres), this model comes on a Grade 5 titanium bracelet with a double-security folding clasp.

Longines Spirit Zulu Time

The Longines Spirit Zulu Time embodies the brand’s century-old expertise in multiple time-zone timepieces. This 39 mm-diameter version is housed in a case made of Grade 5 titanium, an alloy that is extremely robust yet lightweight. The bidirectional bezel on top of this model features a 24-hour scale and a bi-finish ceramic inlay in matte and intensely polished black.

The unique Longines GMT calibre L844.4, which powers the Longines Spirit Zulu Time, provides cutting-edge accuracy.

Both the HydroConquest GMT and the Longines Spirit Zulu Time in titanium are the ideal choice for those who seek the ultimate in elegance and sophistication while making a lasting impression.
