Pour the drinks, bring the noise – Britney Spears has just said yes to Sam Asghari. As a fan pointed out, it doesn’t get more iconic than to see the pop princess getting engaged on the day of the VMAs.
The 39-year-old singer confirmed the happy news on her Instagram, with the caption, “I can’t f**king believe it.” Fans also got a decent view of her gorgeous 4-carat diamond ring when Sam posted a close-up shot on his IG.
The 27-year-old fitness enthusiast’s manager Brandon Cohen, shared an additional statement, “The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them. He couldn’t be happier to be involved and make this one-of-a-kind ring,” he said, adding that the engagement ring was designed by N.Y.C. jeweler Roman Malayev.
Brit Brit and Sam were romantically linked after meeting on her 2016 “Slumber Party” music video. Earlier this year, the hunky star also told Forbes that he’s ready to take their relationship to the next step. “My priorities in life are to remain humble and understand where I came from and where I’m going,” he said at the time. “I want to take my career to the next step when it comes to acting. I want to take my relationship to the next step, as well. I don’t mind becoming a father. I want to be a young dad.”
Needless to say, fans and celeb friends have flooded Britney’s Instagram post with well wishes. “Congratulations love!! 😍 So happy for you! Welcome to the club! 👰🏼💍.” Paris Hilton, who’s engaged to Carter Reum, wrote. Seth Rogen also chimed in, saying, “Mazel!”
However, the best comment from the bunch is probably from the Oscar-winning actress, who suggested to “make him sign a prenup”. She wasn’t the only one concerned for the pop star’s finances. “Get you a bullet proof prenup,” another person commented. “He should embrace that after all you’ve been through ❤️.”
