Cube Entertainment has announced that they will be recreating BEAST with Jang Hyun Seung and 2 new members. Former BEAST members Son Dong Woon, Yoon Du Jun, Lee Gi Kwang, Yong Jun Hyung, and Yang Yo Seob won’t be a part of the idol group.
The full statement from Cube Entertainment’s CEO, Hong Seung Sung, is as follows:
“BEAST’s former member Jang Hyunseung will be returning to BEAST and we will be recreating the group as a 3 member group. The group BEAST that debuted in 2009 has enjoyed massive success with “Shock” and “Breathe” and became CUBE Entertainment’s iconic boy group as well as top level idols.
Jang Hyunseung is an original member of BEAST and with the recruiting of new members is preparing to leap once more. Please watch over the new BEAST and Jang Hyunseung’s future activities with love and support.”
Around Us Entertainment, which is the independent label for the 5 original members, has also responded. They released a short statement saying, “(We) learned about BEAST’s reconfiguration through the news. We are currently contacting the respective people in charge to confirm the news.”
Hyunseung has also stepped up to deny the news. In an Instagram post, he said, “What the heck is this….this is the first time I’m hearing of this since I was born….I have zero intentions of doing this either. I honestly don’t think it looks cool when a singer makes a statement and stuff on Instagram but I couldn’t stand by and do nothing.”

Honestly, we’re not sure how to feel about this piece of news, seeing as the 5 members are still in limbo over the usage of their name. Previously, Cube Entertainment has disallowed them to use the name “BEAST” for any promotional purpose, as the trademark is being held by the company until 2026.
Seeing as Cube Entertainment intends to debut BEAST again with new members, it is fairly impossible that the 5 members will be able to promote with the name ever again.
