It is without a doubt that sports play a major role in our culture – be it football, badminton, or basketball. Although nothing beats watching a live match at a stadium (especially if your favourite team is playing), it’s not every day that you get to attend one.

However, watching the game at home can get boring over time. So why not head down to a local bar to enjoy the match over some drinks? Here are 7 sports bar in town you should go to on game night:

1. Home & Away Restaurant and Bar @ Jaya One

Known for their extremely affordable beer and liquor prices, Home & Away Restaurant and Bar is very popular among football fans, college students, and office workers. While the highlight of the bar may be the big screen for football matches, Home & Away is also a place for music lovers to enjoy live band performances. Moreover, the bar offers an array of mouthwatering dishes such as mutton varuval and chicken perattal.

2. Score @ The Roof

Located at The Roof in Bandar Utama, Score is referred to as “the ultimate bar for sports enthusiasts”. With attractive beer deals and scrumptious finger food (their nachos is a must-try!), the no-fuss hangout spot features major sporting events as well as live telecasts. And that not all, Score even has a foosball table! This place sounds like the perfect Friday night, right?

3. Arena Bar @ TTDI

Originating from Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong, Arena Bar is a New York-style gaming and sports bar. Although the bar is fairly new (they just opened early this year), it has quickly become one of Kuala Lumpur’s go-to hangout spots. Dubbed “the biggest sports bar in town”, Arena has televisions at every corner and features numerous activities such as beer pong, slap cup, darts, and pool.

As the bar is located at the rooftop of Menara Ken, patrons can enjoy the spectacular night view in the comfort of their seats.

Hall of Fame is the created for all sports fans! Decorated with pictures of legendary athletes and flags from around the world, the bar has big screen projectors and multiple TV screens to keep patrons entertained. And that’s not all, the bar also features games and activities like foosball, Drunk Jenga, and poker. Feeling hungry? Fret not, because Hall of Fame serves an array of comforting pub food including burgers and chicken wings.

Conveniently situated at Mid Valley Megamall, Black Bull is probably one of the first eateries in town to feature a bowling alley. Aside from that, the venue includes a sports section where customers can enjoy a game of darts or pool. For those who want to watch a match over drinks at the bar, the television screens are tuned to various sports channels.

The Sticky Wicket prides themselves in being “a watering hole for all fans of gin and enthusiasts of cricket”. While there are many football-themed bars around, the fancy-looking bar is a cricket-inspired bar and restaurant.
