While all members of Girls’ Generation (SNSD/소녀시대) have gone their solo ways, the group still finds time to meet up and showcase their close bond. Recently, the renowned girl group reunited to celebrate two joyous occasions, evoking excitement among fans.
Earlier today (1st August 2025, Friday), member Tiffany Young (티파니 영) shared a post on Instagram, revealing that the group recently reunited to celebrate her birthday and the group’s upcoming 18th anniversary. The singer, who turns 35 years old today, captioned the post, “yay its august”, highlighting her glee at the new month because August is filled with important dates for her and her groupmates because their anniversary falls on 5th August.
The post includes photos of all eight members celebrating Tiffany’s birthday and their anniversary at an undisclosed restaurant. There are also selfies of the girls, showcasing their sister-like bond. In one video shared in the post, the members were singing the birthday song for Tiffany. As she prepared to blow out the candles on her pancakes, the singer said to her fellow members, “Thank you, guys. I love you.”
SONEs have reacted to the post, voicing excitement over Girls’ Generation’s reunion. Many said the gathering showcased their close relationship, despite no longer being active in a group. Others are also hoping the reunion could lead to a possible group comeback. It’s worth noting that while the girl group is inactive, they haven’t disbanded. However, releasing new music may be difficult as most members have left SM Entertainment.
The last time Girls’ Generation made a comeback was in 2022, as part of their 15th anniversary celebrations. They also held a special live event in September of that same year to celebrate the occasion with fans. The group also released a remake of The Grace’s “My Everything” on 14th February 2025 for a special album celebrating SM Entertainment’s 30th anniversary. However, there are no plans for a group comeback in 2025.
