In a twist of events, all five members of NewJeans (뉴진스), also known as NJZ (엔제이지), have announced plans to return to ADOR after their legal battle with the agency. This move sparked debate about the group’s future.
On 12th November 2025 (Wednesday), ADOR released a statement announcing that Hyein (혜인) and Haerin (해린) will return to the agency to uphold their exclusive contracts, out of respect for the court’s ruling. Understandably, this initial statement sparked concern that the quintet might split. However, shortly after, Minji (민지), Hanni (하니) and Danielle (다니엘) announced their plans to also return to the label.

The three released their statement separately, noting a delayed response from ADOR. They also mentioned the decision to return to the company was relayed late because one member is currently in Antarctica. ADOR briefly responded to the statement, commenting, “We are checking on the truth of Minji, Hanni and Danielle’s intent to return.” Once ADOR confirms the statement, all five members will resume their exclusive contracts.
Previously, the group and the agency engaged in a months-long legal battle to terminate the members’ exclusive contracts, citing issues with the management. In October 2025, the Seoul Central District Court ultimately ruled in favour of ADOR, determining the members’ contracts to be valid. All five members of NewJeans initially expressed their plans to appeal the decision.

Netizens have reacted to NewJeans’ announcement to return to ADOR, expressing mixed opinions. While some cheered the possibility of NewJeans making a comeback, others worried that the members were forced to make the decision, citing reports that they couldn’t promote if they continued the legal battle. Some also expressed concern over the idols’ mental health, given their previous statements about the agency.
There are also questions about Min Heejin’s new agency, ooak, now that NewJeans have returned to ADOR. Regardless, we wish the best for the NewJeans members, and we hope to see them back on stage soon.
