Whenever an actor or actress sports a luxury item in a drama, it’s often believed that the items were sponsorships or come from the styling team’s collection. However, South Korean actress Park Jihyun (박지현) recently revealed that the items she wore in her recent Netflix drama came out of her own pocket.

The actress is currently starring in the Netflix drama, “You and Everything Else (은중과 상연)”. In the series, Park Jihyun plays Cheon Sang-yeon, a film producer who comes from a wealthy family. As such, the star often wears outfits and accessories from luxury brands such as Thom Browne and Hermès. However, in a recent interview, Park Jihyun revealed that many of Cheon Sang-yeon’s luxury items were bought by her for the project.

Since the drama couldn’t secure sponsorships from luxury brands, which is common for many Korean dramas, Park Jihyun personally bought many of Cheon Sang-yeon’s clothes and accessories to bring the character to life. When asked which item she purchased for the role that was the most expensive, the 31-year-old said it was the Patek Philippe Nautilus watch. A search online reveals that the timepiece goes for at least RM65,000.

Another luxury brand that Cheon Sang-yeon often sports in the drama is Hermès. The character owns a few Hermès Birkin and Kelly handbags, which retail for at least RM60,000 each. Interestingly, Park Jihyun admits that she doesn’t typically wear luxury brands in real life. However, she enjoys shopping for her characters, saying that styling herself according to references helps her to get immersed in the role and improve the character’s visuals.

After sharing about her dedication to her role, Park Jihyun received praise from netizens. Many noted that the items worn by Cheon Sang-yeon were well-suited for the character. At the same time, others expressed surprise at how the actress could spend thousands on outfits for the drama. However, a few netizens noted that Park Jihyun herself comes from a wealthy family, so it’s not surprising that she could afford to buy the luxury items.

Additionally, many fans also praised Park Jihyun’s acting skills, saying they enjoyed watching her play Cheon Sang-yeon in the drama. “You and Everything Else” is now streaming on Netflix, so if you’re curious about Cheon Sang-yeon’s luxury items, you can see them for yourself.
