It appears that ADOR may be facing another legal battle. This time, the entertainment company is looking to sue with former NewJeans (뉴진스/NJZ/엔제이지) member Danielle (다니엘), the idol’s family and former CEO Min Hee Jin (민희진).
On 30th December 2025 (Tuesday), reports emerged that ADOR has filed a lawsuit against Danielle, a member of her family, as well as Min Hee Jin for breach of contract and damages. The agency is seeking KRW43.1 billion (approximately RM121 million) in damages, and the case has been assigned to the 31st Civil Division of the Seoul Central Court.

The court has yet to set the first hearing date for the lawsuit. However, if the lawsuit proceeds, it would be another legal case in the ongoing battle between ADOR, NewJeans and Min Hee Jin. This news also comes after the HYBE subsidiary announced the termination of Danielle’s exclusive contract. Meanwhile, her groupmate Hanni will return to the label.
In its previous statement, ADOR also noted that member Minji is still in discussions with the agency about her possible return. The label also never mentioned any legal action against Danielle, only towards a member of her family and Min Hee Jin, who “bear significant responsibility for precipitating this dispute and for NewJeans’ departure and delayed return.”

Netizens have reacted to the lawsuit, mostly expressing anger towards HYBE and ADOR for singling out Danielle. However, despite ADOR’s intention to take legal action, many experts noted difficulties for the label. Among the issues raised was the company’s legal right to terminate Danielle’s exclusive contract, especially since she expressed interest in returning.
With no hearing date nor additional information about the case, it’s unclear what will come out of this legal battle. Nevertheless, we wish the best for all the involved parties. What are your thoughts on this?
