No matter how big a fan you are of a K-pop idol, unless you are a close friend or family member, you know very little about them. Even when they share stories or express their emotions during livestreams and interviews, these glimpses are usually just the tip of the iceberg, as they reveal only what they feel comfortable sharing with the public.
That said, it is always exciting to learn something new about our favourite celebrities. Sometimes, we wonder what our idols might have done if they had not debuted. Stray Kids (스트레이 키즈) leader Bang Chan (방찬) was recently asked this question, and here is what he had to say:

Stray Kids members Bang Chan and Changbin appeared as guests on the latest episode of actor-singer Lim Seul-ong’s “Ongs and the City” series on his YouTube channel. Unlike typical interviews, this session felt more like a reunion of friends, catching up on what they have been up to over a meal. The three discussed a variety of topics, including their childhoods, careers, and achievements during their school years.
At one point during the conversation, the host asked the Australian-born artist what he would have done if he were not in Stray Kids. The singer replied that he probably would have gotten married by now, as he had originally planned to settle down at 25 or 26. “I’ve always wanted to get married early, and I would have just stayed in Australia. Either that, or I would have done something sports-related. I also went to art school before, so maybe I would have pursued acting as well,” he explained.

The moment quickly went viral on social media, with many fans expressing their hopes that Bang Chan would one day find the right partner. Others noted that this was the second time the idol had mentioned marriage, sparking speculation that he might be dating or actively looking for a partner. A few, of course, jokingly volunteered to be his wife if he were to propose. Thankfully, the response from STAYs has been overwhelmingly supportive, and even if some were against the idea of Bang Chan dating or marrying, he has never been shy about putting entitled fans in their place.
