Whenever international celebrities visit Malaysia for an event or concert, a few would take some time off from their busy schedule to explore what our country has to offer. Ed Sheeran definitely took the chance to check out the scenery and try out some arts and crafts while in Kuala Lumpur before his show.
He even had time to play a game of badminton with national player Chan Peng Soon. The UK singer wasn’t the only one having some fun exploring KL as there was actually another international act that performed on the same day as he did. Who guessed it, it was FT Island and this was what the members had been up to during their stay:
If you weren’t aware, K-rock band FT Island held a concert at Zepp KL on Saturday (24th February) which was also the same day as Ed Sheeran and ASTRO’s Cha Eun-Woo‘s show at Bukit Jalil National Stadium and Melawati Stadium respectively. Artists would normally fly straight back to their home country or to the next destination of their tour the following day after the concert but FT Island decided to spend some time here in KL while they still could.
Lead vocalist Lee Hong-gi (이홍기) posted on his IG stories yesterday that he went golfing at an unspecified golf course. This was not necessarily a surprise to fans as the singer is known to be a fan of the sport and would occasionally post photos and videos of him golfing somewhere around the world. “Golfing continues in Malaysia,” he wrote as seen in the screenshot above.
While the 33-year-old was busy golfing, his member, Lee Jae-jin (이재진) went shopping at Pavilion KL. Unfortunately for the rock artist, he got lost during his visit to the luxury shopping centre. “I came to visit and got lost. I walked for an hour,” he wrote on his IG story. Both members’ stories went viral on Twitter with fans being amused that the musicians had time to spare to explore KL.
As mentioned, most were not all that surprised with Hong-gi golfing but many commented that they could relate to Jae-jin about getting lost at Pavilion KL. Some said that they wished they could’ve spotted the bassist at the mall as they were there on the same day he went.
At the time of writing, the FT Island boys should have already arrived back in South Korea so if you were hoping to still catch them somewhere in KL, perhaps wait until the next time they perform here.
