While delivery services are great and convenient, there have been some cases where the riders or the courier staff members put the company in a bad light. Take for example the time a food delivery rider was caught stealing customers’ orders after completing his job.
When sorting out customers’ parcels or packages, one would expect the staff to be careful with the items but a video recently went viral showing the courier staff opening up and carelessly throwing parcels around. Watch:

Recently, a Twitter user who goes by @twtbiy reposted a TikTok video showing courier staff members sorting out customers’ parcels but a few of them were caught opening and throwing those parcels around. As seen in the video above, one staff opened a parcel that had a banana inside before being hit with a few small parcels thrown by a colleague.
According to the video’s caption, it was claimed that the courier service in question was Shopee or more specifically, Shopee Express (based on the staff’s shirts). “Why did they open someone’s parcel? It couldn’t have been an accident, right? Does anyone know about this?” wrote the Twitter user. The video quickly went viral and sparked outrage among netizens who condemned the courier staff for being so careless and unethical.
Many tagged Shopee Malaysia demanding an explanation for their workers’ behaviour and it didn’t take long for the local courier to respond to netizens’ demands. The company replied, “We sincerely apologise for this incident. We appreciate the concerns. Our team has started investigating the matter and will take appropriate action. Thank you 🙏”
At the time of writing, there has been no official statement regarding the issue shown in the viral video. Let’s just hope that the issue will be resolved soon and that customers can received their parcels in good condition.
