Every child in the world deserve access to education. Everyone should have the opportunity to learn, study, grow and make friends in school. Access to knowledge should not be a luxury. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford the education they need and not every country has the funds to open up more schools.
Luckily there are still kind souls who are more than willing to help provide the best education children can receive. Malaysia’s very own Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza recently had one of her life-long wishes come true and that is to open up a school for the children of Gaza.
Malaysia’s No.1 singer Dato Sri Siti Nurhaliza is very happy to achieve one of her goals this year by setting up the school in Gaza, Palestine. She revealed that she’s been longing to help the children of Gaza by opening a school to provide them the education they need and with the help of her Nurjiwa Foundation, her wish has been fulfilled.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m so happy as this has been a dream of mine for the longest time. We’re aware of the children’s situation in Gaza, so we want to help them to succeed in their education,” she told mStar. The school in Gaza was named Al-Afwa & Al-Afiyah, after the singer’s two children Muhammad Afwa (1 year old) and Siti Aafiyah (4 years old).
According to the “Kekasihku Selamanya” songstress, the school provides early childhood education as well as the memorization of the Quran for children age 4 and above. The school also provides food for the children during school time. The 43-year-old thanked everyone who have been involved in the project and hopes the school will do well.
In other news, Siti has also been busy preparing for her upcoming fundraising concert, “Music Of The Soul: An Evening Of Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza” with special guest Dato Awie. The funds for the concert will go directly to the newly opened Al-Afwa & Al-Afiyah school in Gaza as well as to the Nurjiwa Foundation.
