If you’re not easily scared, perhaps you should hop on the world’s tallest swing called the Yunyang Longgang Cliff Swing.
Called the “king of all swings”, this new thrilling attraction has been certified by the Guinness World Records as the tallest swing to date. The previous record holder was B!g Rush located in South Africa.
Here are some fun facts about the world’s tallest swing:
- It is located on the edge of a cliff at Yunyang Longgang Scenic Spot in Chongqing, China.
- The new attraction consists of a 328ft tall arch and a 354ft tall launching tower. It is equivalent to a 30-storey building.
- The swing can go at a top speed of 80 miles per hour.
- It can carry up to 3 tourists at one go on the harness.
- According to Head engineer Shi Xuebin, the swing is able to reach a maximum angle of 90 degrees above the ground or 230 feet from the edge of the cliff.
To ensure the safety of visitors, the builder and China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute have been performing security checks to ensure that the world’s tallest swing can withstand “a magnitude-10 earthquake as well as high winds with gusts of up to 103 miles per hour”.
“Tourists must wear safety clothes certified by the European Union (EU). And in order to provide them with extra protection, we have added tailor-made safety belts on the outside of the clothes,” Shi Xuebin was quoted as saying.
The vertigo-inducing attraction will certainly be a haven for adrenaline junkies.
