Former I.O.I member Kim Chung Ha has finally made her solo debut!
As promised, M&H Entertainment has released the music video for “Why Don’t You Know” – the title track of the idol’s first mini-album, “Hands On Me” – on Wednesday (7th June).
Prior to her debut, the young singer told GQ Korea that she is not a quitter. She said, “I think I’m lucky. At 19, I was a JYP trainee and college student, and at 20, I met my current agency and ‘Produce 101’. Rather than thinking, ‘I’m going to quit this industry,’ I just accepted my situation. The team I was a part of was disbanded and the management changed, and I wasn’t used to the change.”
“Why Don’t You Know” features rap verses by rapper Nucksal (넉살) and it’s an upbeat tropical dance track that fits well with summer. The track perfectly showcases Kim’s powerful vocals and amazing dance skills.
Her first mini-album consists of 5 tracks including “Hands On Me”, “Make A Wish”, “Cosmic Dust”, and her pre-release song “Week”.
Known for her amazing dance skills, she was chosen to debut as the lead dancer of I.O.I. So far, Kim is the only I.O.I member to make a solo debut. Most of her former members are currently promoting in different girl groups such as PRISTIN and Gugudan.
