It’s no surprise that some of the celebrities here in Malaysia have equally famous and successful siblings. But did you know some of our Malaysian celebs have a twin?
If you have seen any of them in 2 places at the same time, this is probably why. Here are some Malaysian celebrities who have an identical twin:
1. Thanuja Ananthan and Anuja Ananthan
Thanuja is a Malaysian model who represented the country in the 2009 Miss World beauty pageant. For those who may not be aware, she has a twin sister Anuja Ananthan who works as a Yoga instructor. Both were born on Merdeka Day, 31st August 1985.
2. Ilya Buang and Yang Sharkawi
Fans have always known Ilya Buang as a member of the legendary comedy group Senario, but apparently, there are those who aren’t aware that the comedian has a twin brother, Yang Sharkawi who is a former teacher. While we may not know how apart they are in terms of birth, we know that Ilya is the older brother of the two. The twins were born on 15th November 1967.
3. Fify Azmi and Khalie Azmi
Who would’ve thought that there’s more than one Fify Azmi? By that, we mean, someone with an uncanny resemblance to the actress. Apparently, the former Dewi Remaja participant has a twin sister name Khalie Azmi who is a content creator and insurance agent. The sisters were born on 10th April 1990.
4. Ekin Rahmat and Aenn Rahmat
Now let’s talk about twins who made it big together. Sisters Ekin and Aenn are celebrity entrepreneurs who have always appeared alongside each other for every event and promotion. The two also appeared as guests on MeleTOP earlier this year. The siblings were born on 6th November.
5. Aidil Zafuan and Zaquan Adha
Speaking of twins who made it big together, you may also be aware of athletes Aidil Zafuan and Zaquan Adha. Born on 3rd August 1987, the duo have been active football players since 2004 when they were just teenagers. Back in 2008, the brothers were selected to be part of the Pilihan Malaysia team to play against Chelsea.
6. Dina Johor and Lina Johor
Actress Dina Johor’s actual birth date remains a mystery but we do know that she and her twin sister Lina Johor were born in the year 1980. The two co-founded Unique Twins Production, a company that specialises in film and television.
7. Farhan Asri and Farees Asri
Actor Farhan Asri (right) started his career after participating in the 2017/2018 Hero Remaja competition where he was announced as the runner-up. If you think he’s good-looking, then you’d be happy that he also has a twin brother, Farees Asri who is a dancer and choreographer. The brothers were born on 10th July and judging from the height difference alone, we can tell that Farhan is the older brother.
8. Rachel Yeoh and Michelle Yeoh
Before you give your reaction, we’re not talking about that Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh. No, we’re talking about socialite twin sisters Rachel and Michelle Yeoh. These Malaysian influencers appeared on the cover of Tatler Magazine back in 2017 and were the first Malaysians, and the first twins, to debut at Queen Charlotte’s Ball at Kensington Palace back in 2015. The date of their birth remains unknown but is speculated to be on 13th June.
9. Muhammad Raizal Azra (Azil) and Muhammad Raizal Azrai (Azal Azrai)
The autistic twins are well known thanks to their actress mom Zarina Zainuddin. The starlet often shares stories of their everyday lives on socials. The pair have come a long way with Azil now making a name for himself as a social media influencer and actor. The twins were born on 10th June 1996.
