In 2024, they took the world by storm with back-to-back hits, so it’s no surprise that fans are eager to see what K-pop sensations aespa (에스파) has in store for 2025. The quartet will make their long-awaited comeback on 27th June 2025 (Friday), and it looks to be another epic release!

On 4th June 2025 (Wednesday), SM Entertainment officially announced aespa’s June comeback with the single album “Dirty Work”. The label also dropped the first teaser, highlighting the new official logo for the release. While we wait for the release, here are a few fun facts about “Dirty Work”:

This comeback is exciting for fans and critics because it’s aespa’s first release in eight months. The quartet had a very successful 2024 with all three of their comeback, “Supernova”, “Armageddon”, and Whiplash, becoming chart-topping hits. As such, the public has high expectations for their new single.

The Single’s Name Leaked Before The Teaser’s Release

Interestingly, fans learned about aespa’s comeback before the first teaser was released. Days before the teaser dropped, a fan discovered a listing on U.S. bookstore chain Barnes & Noble’s website with details about the upcoming release. The listing included the group’s album title, release date and even the different types of physical releases.

The Title Track Will Have An English Version

It seems that aespa is aiming for international fame with this upcoming release. According to the official track listing, the single album will include Korean and English versions of the title song. This is the second time the quartet released an English version of a single, with the first being “Life’s Too Short”.

“Dirty Work” is said to be an attractive dance song that combines synth bass and cool melodies. According to reports, ScreaM Records producer IMLAY (임레이) participated in making the track. The DJ has previously worked with aespa on their past songs, including “Kill It” and “Lucid Dream”, so fans look forward to this new collaboration.

Choreographer RENAN Rumoured To Have Choreographed The Track

Another possible returning collaborator is K-pop choreographer RENAN (레난). The dancer is behind some of aespa’s iconic dances, including “Armageddon” and “Whiplash”. After the first teaser’s release, RENAN took to Instagram to promote the comeback, leading fans to believe she choreographed the new track.
