Movie Tea: Rachel Zegler Banned From Disney?; “Avengers Doomsday” Cast Revealed

Disney is always full of surprises. One day, you’re trashing them for the failure of their latest cinematic release, and the next, you’re applauding them and getting hyped up over their next offering.

Typically it’s either/or for some studios – but the House of Mouse can manage to do both at the same time. As to why that is, check out our article below.

Rachel Zegler Rumoured To Be Banned From Disney

Source: IMDb

There is no doubt that Disney’s live-action remakes of its classic films have been hit or miss. However, out of all of them, none has stirred up more controversy than the recent “Snow White” film, featuring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot. Though it was the entertainment company’s release of the year, the movie became a critical and commercial flop, earning back a measly US$92.6 million of its US$240 to US$270 million production budget.

This is one of the biggest losses the corporation has incurred in a long while, and it does not help that the audience, both Disney lovers and otherwise, are collectively denouncing this remake, with some spreading rumours to boot. One of those rumours is that the House of Mouse has cut its ties with the controversial star, but is that really true?

Source: IMDb

Of course, with all rumours, there is no basis to this claim, nor can Disney fire her even if the company wanted to. According to Sportskeeda, as well as other news outlets, Disney cannot fire Zegler, largely due to the fact that she accomplished her role as Snow White, both on set and off set. Furthermore, she even conducted some press interviews and marketing for both the film and company. However, these campaigns were a double-edged sword, as they brought the then-upcoming movie into the spotlight – but in the wrong way.

As most would already know, Zegler went on to call out the original film for having “problematic” beats, which resulted in a lot of people finding it disrespectful to the source material, as well as fans who genuinely loved the story. This resulted in a campaign of harassment, targeting both the film and the actress, something that would intensify when she showed her support for Palestine amidst the ongoing war in Gaza. According to Variety, Disney requested that Zegler tone her opinions down, but she did not comply.

The reason why many speculated that Zegler had been banned from Disney, outside of the film’s failure, was her sudden lack of appearance in interviews. But the truth is, due to the negative press she was garnering, Disney had to scale down her promotional engagements to save whatever was left of the film.

However, does this mean we will see more of Zegler in the future? In its current state, there is a chance that it is a yes, but to say that the chances are high is like saying the sun will suddenly stop rising; it’s just not going to happen. If anything, it will take a long time before she can step into the fray. And if she does, there’s also the matter of attitude and if she’s willing to change it and at least humble herself amidst this controversy.

Confirmed Cast For “Avengers: Doomsday”

YouTube video

After months of radio silence following the big reveal that RDJ will be playing Dr. Doom in the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday,” we finally got the official list of all the actors that will oppose Doom. Earlier today, Marvel Entertainment’s official YouTube channel released a quick two-minute teaser, announcing that the film is now in production.

It is a modest teaser which features a long line of canvas chairs, each of them bearing the names of their respective actors, showcasing who and what to expect in the upcoming blockbuster. In order of appearance, we have:

  • Chris Hemsworth (Thor)
  • Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm / Invisible Woman)
  • Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson / Captain America)
  • Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier)
  • Letitia Wright (Shuri / Black Panther)
  • Paul Rudd (Scott Lang / Ant-Man)
  • Wyatt Russell (John Walker / U.S. Agent)
  • Tenoch Huerta Mejia (Namor)
  • Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm / The Thing)
  • Simu Liu (Shang-Chi)
  • Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova)
  • Kelsey Grammer (Dr. Hank McCoy / Beast)
  • Lewis Pullman (Bob / Sentry)
  • Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres / Falcon)
  • Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm / Human Torch)
  • David Harbour (Alexei Shostakov / Red Guardian)
  • Winston Duke (M’Baku)
  • Hannah John-Kamen (Ava Starr / Ghost)
  • Tom Hiddleston (Loki)
  • Patrick Stewart (Professor Charles Xavier)
  • Ian McKellen (Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto)
  • Alan Cumming (Kurt Wagner / Nightcrawler)
  • Rebecca Romijn (Mystique)
  • James Marsden (Scott Summers / Cyclops)
  • Channing Tatum (Remy LeBeau / Gambit)
  • Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic)
  • Robert Downey Jr. (Victor Von Doom / Doctor Doom)

We recognise a few names, which are obvious mainstays – with a few more who were guaranteed to reprise their roles. However, those who haven’t kept up with the series would be shocked to see a few other names, like Loki and Ghost, making their way back for this cinematic event. What is doubly surprising is that the actual OGs are coming back from the original X-Men films that started all the way back in the early 2000s, such as Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden. The sound of the Avengers theme mixing with the X-Men’s sent shivers down our spines.

Of course, the video was neatly concluded with RDJ himself sitting in his chair, turning to face the camera and giving us a quick shush. Knowing the Russo brothers’ track record, this is a simple gesture requesting us not to spoil the film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, despite the 26 actors confirmed for the film, Marvel has yet to reveal the entire cast. However, the details of the when, how, and why have yet to be unveiled for now. Regardless, if this was only a fraction of what is to come, we can’t wait for the film’s official release on 1st May 2026.
