The South Korean entertainment industry has lost yet another young talent. Actress Kim Saeron (김새론) was found dead at her apartment on 16th February 2025 (Sunday). She was 24 years old.
According to reports, an acquaintance found the actress unconscious in her home on Sunday evening. The emergency services dispatched to Kim Saeron’s home would later declare her dead. Police didn’t specify the cause of death but said there were no signs of any crime, like a break-in. The authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of her passing and ask the public to refrain from speculating.
The actress’ sudden death shocked fans, who took to social media to mourn her. Kim Saeron began her career as a child actress, gaining recognition for her roles in movies like “The Man From Nowhere (아저씨)” and “A Brand New Life (여행자)”. As fans paid tribute to the late star, they remembered her talent and many iconic roles. Many said she was gone too early, noting that she still had a bright future.
Many K-pop fans also shared tributes to the actress, who was well-acquainted with several idols, including Red Velvet’s (레드벨벳) Yeri (예리) and the late ASTRO’s (아스트로) Moonbin (문빈). Kim Saeron’s dandelion profile picture on her Instagram account is also a tribute to the late ASTRO member, who passed away in 2023. As such, many fans paid tribute to the late star, thanking her for always showing love and support for her idol friends.
Before her death, Kim Saeron announced her plans to return to the entertainment industry following years-long hiatus. In 2022, the late actress announced her break from acting after getting caught driving under the influence. After her death, a close friend revealed that the star had changed her name to Kim Ah Im (김아임) and had planned to open a cafe, in addition to returning to acting.
