It’s the moment many Jennie (제니) fans have been waiting for! On 22nd January (Wednesday), the BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) member announced her much-anticipated studio album release date and unveiled details about the upcoming release – including the star-studded featured artist line-up.
Jennie and ODDATELIER Entertainment recently shared details for the singer’s first studio album, “Ruby”. The album is set to drop on 7th March 2025 (Friday) and has 15 tracks, including her hit single, “Mantra”. Like many of BLACKPINK’s musical releases, the album will be available digitally and in physical copies. However, the detail that got fans most excited about the release is the star-studded line-up of all the artists featured.

According to the teaser video shared on Jennie’s social media accounts, the album will include collaborations with several world-renowned artists. The star-studded line-up includes American rappers Childish Gambino, Doechii and Dominic Fike, and French singer FKJ. Most excitingly, the album will also see collaborations with English-Albanian pop singer Dua Lipa and American R&B singer Kali Uchis.
Fans have already expressed excitement about the new release and the collaborations. However, “Ruby” also sparked criticism for Jennie’s former label, YG Entertainment. According to many BLINKs, the album is proof of YG “holding back” BLACKPINK’s musical potential. Many noted that Jennie, along with Rosé (로제) and Lisa (리사), have released more solo songs in total compared to the group’s entire discography in the last nine years.
Jennie isn’t the only one releasing music soon because groupmate Jisoo (지수) is also gearing up for her musical comeback. Unfortunately, her agency, BLISSOO, is being criticised for their “poor planning”. The agency recently dropped a teaser for an upcoming release set for 14th February 2025 (Friday). However, many fans criticised the teaser, lamenting the lack of details for the release and the delayed promotions.

Jisoo would later take to a fan chatting platform to address the concerns and apologise to her fans. The star said she had planned to release many projects, but perfecting each detail took longer than expected, thus delaying the promotions. Jisoo added that she was also concerned about the delay but reassured fans that she would present a complete work on the scheduled release date.
Whatever happens, we’re sure BLINKs will support Jennie and Jisoo on their upcoming releases. Meanwhile, check out the teaser video for “Ruby” below:
